Eleven TCU couples celebrated Valentine’s Day 2012 by reaffirming their vows in a ceremony at Robert Carr Chapel.
Eleven TCU couples celebrated Valentine’s Day 2012 by reaffirming their vows in a ceremony officiated by the Rev. Angela Kaufman ’95, minister to the university, with music by organist Emmet Smith ’54 MM at Robert Carr Chapel.
The event was organized by the TCU Alumni Association and the Britain Society. After the ceremony, the couples and their families and friends were invited to a Sweethearts’ Reception in the Kelly Center, where they enjoyed mini cakes with their names on them.
A vintage car provided by Chandler Smith ‘85 squired some couples to and from the nuptials and students from the Student Foundation welcomed the couples with bubbles as they exited the chapel.
The couples who participated were Ben Alexander ’00 and Chelsea Hudson Alexander ’00; Marcus Bryant and Virginia Stevenson Bryant ’75 ME; Doug Cox ’93 and Jenny Kieta Cox ’93 (pictured with the vintage car, below left), Kay Harper Hagadone ’70 and Stan Hagadone ’71 MDiv (DMN ’93) (shown leaving the chapel, left); Glen Hixon ’57 and Janice Lambert Hixon ’58; Gaynelle Kelley and Lionel Kelley ’59; George Runnion ’48 and Rosemary Johnson Runnion ’51; Amy Pickett Shineman ’96 (MBA ’98); Steve Shineman ’98 MBA; Ernest Stutheit ’57 and Lola Delehoy Stutheit ’55 MA; Sue Sanders Winter ’62 and Wesley Winter ’61 (MBA ’76); and Emmet Smith ’54 and Judy Oelfke Smith ’61 MM.
