One of the best football memories I’ve had was the October 22, 2022, game against Kansas State. I remember the energy at Amon G. Carter was crazy. Our team and the fans were both on fire while the weather was perfect. It was such a great time, and of course we beat those Wildcats. #frogforlife

Rose Bowl. Michigan Fiesta Bowl.

Back when the football team was JUST starting to gain momentum in 2006 and work its way through a plethora of mid-major conferences, and we’d just joined the Mountain West — some of the most fun years of football — Texas Tech came to town. We won 12-3 on three field goals courtesy of Chris Manfredini.
This game was critical for so many reasons:
- Tech didn’t score a touchdown for the first time since 2000 under Mike Leach.
- Tech scored fewer than 10 points for the first time since 2001.
- TCU extended its nation’s best winning streak to 13 games.
- TCU had been thoroughly handled two years prior by Tech 70-35.
- It was TCU’s second win against a ranked opponent on the season after the insane 14-10 victory at Oklahoma in the season opener.
- People finally started to pay attention to the little sisters of the poor.
It seems to me this was the point where TCU football really took off. The team started becoming a powerhouse.

2010 football game when TCU beat New Mexico to win a spot in the 2011 Rose Bowl. Andy Dalton had a good game.

It was a soggy day in Clemson, South Carolina. The rain was persistent, the forecast dismal. My two daughters and I had made the trip from Alpharetta, Georgia, under some pretense or another. As we neared the campus, the ruse was up, and they figured out the surprise! Both were in high school at the time, with the elder decidedly committed to become a Frog like her mom and dad. Clemson was a pretty campus. And hilly! We arrived with plenty of time to tailgate, both with the surprisingly robust purple contingent and the bright orange adherents. We dined at the traditional pub then wandered the party fields, being welcomed at every turn. We ended up with a crowd of Frog fans gathered around the famous TCU ambulance! Everyone was complimentary on the Clemson fan reputation for welcoming visitors. It’s how I would want TCU home fans to be. The game was great, ending with a TCU victory!

Until the Fiesta Bowl, the Rose Bowl was by far the most emotionally moving feeling I ever experienced at ANY sporting event. … I felt like I was living a Dan Jenkins book about the teams nearly a century back. Go Frogs!

2009 football home game against Utah. The stadium was absolutely electric with an attendance record.

Alamo Bowl against Oregon AND the Fiesta Bowl last year. The Alamo was such an astounding comeback with a backup quarterback and the Fiesta Bowl was a magnificent.

For Football had to be the Rose Bowl in 2011 or the overtime win against Baylor in 2015! For baseball is was the Super Regional win in 2016 against A&M. A walk off win in extra innings!

Definitely Alamo Bowl comeback for me.

Alamo Bowl vs. Oregon. “The purple shirt works.”

Nothing short of a National Championship will ever top the Rose Bowl. And even then it would pretty close.

So many to choose from!
Standing in the remnants of Hurricane Ike for TCU football vs. Stanford in 2008. The rainy, freezing Black Friday game vs. Baylor in 2015. The comeback at the Alamo Bowl when I probably scared my poor Aggie father with my rollercoaster of emotions. TCU basketball beating Richmond to go to the NIT. Getting hit by a foul ball during a 16-inning TCU baseball game in which I watched the Frogs punch their ticket to Omaha. Racing to see extra innings in the postseason at Lupton after work. And getting to sing the National Anthem at two baseball games.
And I’m sure I’m forgetting a few. Go Frogs!

Hands down TCU vs. Michigan. Anyone who says different wasn’t there.

The Frogs’ 2014 Fort Worth Regional game against Sam Houston State that went 22 innings and lasted six hours and 55 minutes. The Frogs won 3-2 at about 2:30 a.m.
The other would be the Frogs’ rally in 2015 to defeat North Carolina State, 9-8. TCU trailed, 8-1, headed to 8th inning. The win clinched a Super Regional berth for the Frogs.

2022 vs. Texas Tech. I had just come back from deployment, and going to a game was the first thing I wanted to do.

Football:
Rose Bowl 2011
Alamo Bowl comeback in 2016
Fiesta Bowl 2022
And honestly, even with the outcome, it was SO exciting to be at the National Championship game last year!

The TCU football game against Boise State in 2011. My late husband and I flew in from Massachusetts, and my brother drove down from Washington. We were so excited when Boise State missed the field goal as the game ended. What a nail biter!!

In person? Beating Oregon State in baseball at Lupton to advance to play Texas in our first Super Regional appearance! Walk-off from Jason Coats scoring Bryan Holaday. And Chuck LaMendola says, “Pack up the Bus! We’re headed to Austin!!!”
I’ll also never forget that the lights shut off suddenly midgame and was just an eerie feeling.
