Frye recognized
Bob J. Frye, TCU emeritus professor of English, was surrounded by former students when he received the Frances Hernandez Teacher-Scholar Award in February at the 80th meeting of the Conference of College Teachers of English. The statewide honor recognizes the lifetime achievements of an English professor in Texas and is the highest recognition given by the organization.
Fittingly, four of Frye’s former students from three different decades (all of whom are now English professors) joined him at the presentation: Chris Willerston ’68 MA, Abilene Christian University; Deborah Kuhlman ’83 MA, Lubbock Christian University; Susan Blasingame ’91 MA, Wayland Baptist University; and Stacia Nunn Neeley ’97 MA, Texas Wesleyan University.
