Amanda Elmore Takes a Global View of Marketing
The marketing pro hasn’t been afraid to make major leaps in pursuing her career goals.
Amanda Lisak Elmore ’10 has led marketing and advertising campaigns for several well-known brands, including Estée Lauder, British Airways, Abercrombie & Fitch, Beats by Dre
and Biossance.
At TCU, knowing she wanted to explore an aspect of business in her career, she pursued a degree in marketing. To tap into her creative side, she minored in fashion merchandising.
“Along with taking the fundamental marketing, finance and accounting classes, I quickly realized the planning element and structure found in marketing was for me,” Elmore said.
While in college, Elmore said, she found that “experience is key, now more than ever.”
Three internships helped her sample a career in brand management and digital media.
Drawn to the detailed planning, fast-paced environment and relationships that she made within the digital media landscape, she found her calling.
“Amanda is the exception, not the rule. She has always been goal-oriented, and you could easily say that Amanda is never afraid to interact with anyone on any level,” said Bob Akin ’98 (MBA ’02, EdD ’12), assistant professor of professional practice in marketing. “Her greatest skill is her outgoing and welcoming personality, and she has built a highly effective, high-performing team around her.”
With the media company iProspect, Elmore managed accounts and ran digital marketing across various media channels. She said she was able to utilize her people skills and lead teams, manage client relationships and plan digital campaigns.
With iProspect she moved to Chicago, her hometown, and later London.
“My move to London was actually the first time I stepped foot in the U.K. Call me crazy, but it was, without a doubt, one of the best decisions I’ve ever made,” she said. “As I was progressing in my career and taking on more of a leadership role, I was ready for another big step.”
As a senior account manager, she added British Airways and Abercrombie & Fitch to her portfolio.
“The accounts I worked on spanned across the globe, which provided an insider’s view into marketing at a global level,” Elmore said.
In 2016 she moved back to the U.S. to be a global account supervisor for PMG, a digital marketing company. In her role, Elmore said, she continues to travel and leverage her experience.
Elmore is a member of the TCU marketing alumni advisory board and helps support PMG’s graduate leadership program.
PMG nominated Elmore as an Ad 2 Dallas’ 32 Under 32 rising star in 2019. She was selected for the award, which recognizes young talent in the Dallas-Fort Worth advertising community.
In a press release for the award, Parks Blackwell, vice president of marketing and client development at PMG, said, “Amanda is a rock star who embodies humility and grace. She is therefore beloved by her clients, partners and team members, creating a truly collaborative spirit.”
