These mid-century hats are just part of an archive of more than 2,500 articles of clothing in the historic costume collection maintained by Interior Design and Merchandising. The garments are catalogued and span the entire 20th century. “My students live in spandex yoga pants,” says professor Stephanie Bailey ’94, “So this collection is invaluable in exposing them to materials and construction from the past.” The assortment of garments, shoes and accessories includes lace wedding attire from the early 1900s, polyester Pucci mini dresses from the ’60s and even a simian fur jacket from the 1920s.  To make a clothing donation contact professor Bailey at s.bailey2@tcu.edu.
