Campaign now over $363 million
As of March 1, the Campaign for TCU was on pace to surpass its new goal of $375 million.
The Campaign for TCU, the universities comprehensive fundraising effort, now stands at more than $363 million in gifts and pledges. Some 33,400 donors — making approximately 121,000 commitments — exceeded the campaign’s $250 million goal in 2010, two years before its conclusion. A new goal of $375 million was set for the campaign’s end in 2012.
About $74 million already has been contributed toward the goal for annual and endowed scholarships. Donors have committed more than $51 million for academic programs and faculty support, including 12 endowed chairs and professorships. About $41 million has been raised for scholarship endowment, including the Bob Bolen Leadership Scholars program created by The Sarah & Ross Perot Jr. Foundation. Almost $33 million has been directed to the Annual Fund, which supports the university’s mission through general scholarships and academic programs.
The Campaign for TCU has also helped to underwrite a campus transformation for facilities such as the J.E and L.E. Mabee Foundation Education Complex with Betsy and Steve Palko Hall; Clarence and Kerry Scharbauer Hall; the Schieffer School of Journalism Convergence Center; the Brown-Lupton University Union; four residence halls in the new Campus Commons and others.
