Alumni Chapter: Chicago

This is the first in a series of visits with regional TCU alumni chapters and clubs.

With events that invite alumni to gather in iconic Windy City locations and young, energetic leadership, the TCU Chicago Alumni Chapter has seen steady growth in recent years.

“Every year, more and more young alums end up coming to Chicago from TCU. The spotlight’s getting bigger on Chicago,” said Austin Flanagan ’22, immediate past chapter president. “That’s kind of what I’m proud of, just being able to do it with people that I consider my closest friends. … It’s the power of what happens when you put TCU minds together — great things happen.”

Are you visiting Chicago anytime soon? TCU alumni have recommendations.

Sights to See:

  • Oak Street Beach
  • Lincoln Park neighborhood
  • Architecture tour by boat

“It’s such a great way to see the city, and you go all along the river,” said Lauren Danke ’22, current chapter co-president.

Recent Events:

  • TCU Night at Wrigley Field

“The Cubs game is definitely the most anticipated event,” said Stone Metz ’22, current co-president, “and it’s definitely the most fun.”

  • Welcome Happy Hour at Ranalli’s

“Let it be known that the true Chicago pizza is tavern-style pizza, not deep dish,” Flanagan said.
