The Southern California club proves that alumni associations aren’t just for alumni — Horned Frog parents tend to join after sending their students to Fort Worth. Tracy Smith ’87 has served as president of the TCU Alumni Association Orange County Club since it became an official group in 2015.
Road Trip:
TCU Baseball vs. San Diego
In February, members of the Orange County club headed south to cheer on Horned Frog baseball in person — and to socialize with members of the San Diego club at Harland Brewing Co.
Regular Event:
Game-Watching Parties at San Juan Hills Sports Bar & Grill
“Their kids graduated three years, five years, 10 years ago, and these parents are still coming to our game-watching parties. You would think they were the alumni. … They love it!” Smith said.
Memorable Event:
TCU Basketball vs. USC
Members of the Orange County club took a party bus to the 2018 game at the Staples Center in Los Angeles and waited in the tunnel to high-five student-athletes at halftime; TCU won 96-61.
