A standing ovation spontaneously erupted in the middle of December Commencement when Mercedes, 15, and Isabella Combest, 12, shyly accepted their dad’s MLA diploma.
Their father, Capt. Chris Combest, is a commander for the Alpha 949 Guntruck Security Company at Camp Al Taji.
When it was announced during the ceremony at TCU that Chris was in Iraq, the packed crowd rose to their feet and loudly applauded.
Chris proudly waves his Frog colors while overseas and even has an alumni sticker on his Guntruck.
