Horned Frog in Sochi, Russia
February 7, 2014
James Weston ’97 is in Sochi, Russia, this month as part of a contingent of U.S. government security personnel working at the 2014 Olympic Games. Weston, an English graduate, is part of a team that is exchanging security information with the Russian government, the U.S. Olympic Committee and Olympic sponsors to keep the Games safe.
Weston traveled to Sochi in October 2013 (pictured above) with the U.S. State Department and Overseas Security Advisory Council (OSAC) to attend the Sochi Olympic Organizing Committee Safety and Security Seminar for Marketing Partners.
“The security seminar included presentations on security-related issues and was an opportunity for corporate sponsors, host nation officials and OSAC to share information on their Olympic programs and security plans leading up to the Games,” Weston wrote us.
In addition to assisting the OSAC, Weston works at the Research and Information Support Center in Washington.
