Zipcar, Inc., the world’s leading car-sharing network, brings two vehicles for rent to TCU campus.

TCU partnered with Zipcar, Inc., the world’s leading car-sharing network, in October to bring the popular program to campus. Students, faculty and staff aged 18 and older are eligible to join the program for a $25 membership fee.

Cars can be rented by the hour ($7.50) or the day ($69). Vehicles can be booked and used 24 hours a day, seven days a week and reservations can be for as little as an hour or for multiple days. Gas, insurance, reserved parking spots, roadside assistance and up to 180 miles of driving per day are included.

Participating members can make reservations, lock and unlock a vehicle and honk the vehicle’s horn to help locate it through a smartphone app.

“Zipcar will give TCU students who don’t have access to a car the freedom and flexibility to attend job interviews and participate in off-campus activities like internships,” said Michael Serafino, general manager for Zipcar University.
