George Wirsdorfer ’63 (MEd ’66) didn’t come to the 50th reunion of the Class of ’63 in May empty handed — he brought his old student ID card.

During the medallion presentation ceremony, Wirsdorfer showed the vintage ID to a delighted Chancellor Victor J. Boschini Jr.

“He really reacted to it,” says Wirsdorfer, a retired high school teacher who lives in Fort Worth with his wife, Sydney Felt Wirsdorfer ’66.

“He asked me if he could borrow it to make a copy,” he adds. “It was just fun.”

The ID, signed by then-Athletic Director L.R. “Dutch” Meyer, was Wirsdorfer’s official “Student Activity Card” with holes punched to show he had attended campus events.

“As my daughter says, I’m the greatest pack rat in the world,” he adds. “You never know when something will come in handy.”
